OUR VISION

Our vision within the Mean Beanery is cultivating an environment where people can come enjoy coffee, connection, and collaboration. Whether you are stopping in for a morning latte, visiting us on one of our Homeschool/Study Days, joining for a delicious lunch with a friend, or stopping in to grab a baked good we strive to help you find a slice of “happy” when you visit during your day.

We have taken considerable steps to source as many local ingredients, utilize local suppliers, and make as much as we can from scratch here at The Mean Beanery. We proudly have in-house baker(s), make our chicken breast fresh, source our bacon from John’s Butcher Shop, and source our greens from Pure Greens in South Bend, IN. Additionally, we continue to seek out local sources for artwork and retail carried within our cafe to highlight the amazing talent in the Michiana region.

We currently get our coffee from a local roaster, proudly carrying Toccoa Coffee, as well as Rishi Teas, and Monin Syrups.

We strive to create an environment that aligns with our mission and passion of coffee. We know that not everyone will enjoy our atmosphere, food, drinks, or the way we do things. We strive to respond with kindness regardless – whether someone chooses to dine with us once, twice, become a regular we take pride in the opportunity to serve our guests.

We have a clear vision of creating a positive space where everyone feels welcomed and we expect the same of all of our gracious patrons.

We strive to make everyday one of hope, positivity and appreciation that we had it to share with our guests in providing a space to Michiana and surrounding areas to collaborate, create, and enjoy one of our greatest passions – coffee.

The MEAN BEANERY is a “new business” within Michiana. The previous business The Mean Bean Bistro and Brew is not associated with The Mean Beanery. We have continued carrying many of the delicious food recipes from the prior business while bringing our businesses vision to the menu both within food and coffee.
